Welcome to Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Kingsport, TN (Kingsport City School System). Originally built in 1957, and renovated in 1992, Jefferson Elementary School’s current enrollment is 535 students, with 37 professional staff members and 26 support staff members.
Thomas Jefferson Elementary School was named for our 3rd president, a noteworthy model to live up to. Jefferson was a man of rather remarkable intelligence. He was a farmer, a scholar, an architect, an author, an inventor, and a statesman. His passion for books was perhaps equaled by his fascination with technology.
With an appreciation of the eclectic genius of our namesake, we at Jefferson Elementary strive to provide an educational experience for our children which, while grounded in basic academic skills, also encourages the emotional, cultural and creative development of our students.
